Mitts

I have to acknowledge the deep gratitude I owe to that great lady of boxers, Ellie Linderholm Wood, who when I was searching for a sire who would benefit the bitches sired by my Ch Sjecoin Winter Forcast suggested "Mitts". Arriving in the USA at the ABC Specialty, she showed me this young male and immediately I knew that this was the one. Young though he was, I was determined to purchase him so I did. Shown in the classes under Joe Heine, he won the American Bred Class much to my great excitement. Left to complete his US title he arrived in Australia after considerable traumas with quarantine and so began a journey in Australia with this marvelous Boxer.
"Mitts" produced 41 Champions of which 5 were Grand Champions, many of which continued themselves to produce further champions. Mention must also be made of his son Ch Sjecoin Do Applaud (Angus) who sired 8 Champions, incl. 1 Grand Champion.
Always known as "Mister Mitts" by his fans, he was a true gentleman of the breed. By nature serene and with the sweetest temperament he adored puppies and would play with them for hours, even when still with their dam as young whelps. Children were also his delight and my granddaughter would learn to walk whilst clutching on to his broad back whilst he patiently stood for her support. Such are the pleasures I will always cherish.
"Mitts" has now passed on but like my Simon, his memory will never fade from me for he truly in my eyes was, one in a million
